Macro-case 001 investigates hostage taking and other serious deprivations of liberty committed by the extinct FARC-EP between 1993 and 2012.

The SRVR investigates in a "top-down" logic. This means that the SRVR began by imputing crimes to former members of the FARC-EP secretariat and will continue its investigation "downwards" on the mid-level commanders and some direct perpetrators.
